While writing New Year cards to friends, adorning myself with femme armor, and going through my mom's old clothes I was suddenly overwhelmed with gratitude and inspiration. I felt totally alive and I wanted desperately to express my wonder and joy. I tried pouring the intensity of my feelings into my journal, but in that moment writing just wasn't able to contain my unbound excitement for the year 2013! Spontaneously recording this video, however, fully fulfilled my own personal need to express that excitement.

My intention in making the video was simply to carve out a place to hold all my energy. I wasn't planning on sharing it with anyone, even though it is addressed to all those with whom I have shared myself and who have shared themselves with me. In making my New Year's resolutions today, however, I realized that I actually did want to send this out into the world in some way. It somehow didn't feel right to keep this to myself, when so much of what I said was inspired by the brilliant and sexy people in my life who are in turn so inspired by the brilliant and sexy people in their lives who are in turn so inspired by the brilliant and sexy people in their lives, etc, etc, etc. In reality the whole world contributed to my feeling of being TOTALLY in the world, and so I wanted to show "the world" in some small way, that I acknowledge your beauty and am grateful to your presence.

Thinking about New Year's resolutions made me realize that I want to see what happens when I allow myself to follow more of my impulses. I want to see what happens when I give myself permission to be unpredictable, to exist outside the confines of who I think I am or should be or expect myself to be. I want to see what happens when I take the risk of following myself down the rabbit hole. I want to see what my own internal Wonderland could look like to me.
