A new way to fly feet forward in the suprone position using a specially shaped bar to facilitate complete control over the glider. This new idea has patent pending status in the USA. I am hoping to solicit the interest of manufacturers to take the testing of this invention to the next level and put it into production.
I have been told my solution has many problems, however, As of this video I have flown with the invention 26 times in all manner of conditions and can not find any problems whatsoever, in fact, this one simple bar, which is probably the ONLY thing we have never done in Hang Gliding, seems to have solved every obstacle and problem we have encountered flying in the feet forward position......I really, truly, can not find any problems.
This bar is not simply adding handles to the downtubes, which HAS been done before and is not safe as merely adding handles would apply a twisting force to be applied to the downtubes.
There is no stress being applied to the downtubes with the Fenison Fly Bar.....the forward portion of the invention does not allow any twisting to take place.
In addition to amazing comfort (I am never tired after flying now), the potential safety gained by flying feet first instead of head first is huge.
Would I rather jump from a five foot high deck to hit the solid ground below me feet first or head first?
the potential to increase the hang gliding safety in a crash scenario flying feet first within A-Frame or control bar is HUGE....
I am very excited about this aspect of the invention, the potential for safer flying.....
