Ad code can co-exist for MULTIPLE banks... for example, union and hdfc... -- Ad code registration is for taking payment from buyers i.e. foreign remittance. we can have multiple ad codes. like for some countries some banks dont work, in that case you can take buyer's payment from different bank. For example, in Netherland, hdfc dont work then you can take payment from Netherland, in Union bank.

FOR GETTING GST REFUND WITH PAYMENT OF IGST AND DUTY DRAWBACK, IFSC CODE HAS TO BE REGISTERED SEPARATELY AT EACH PORT from where you want to export the goods. For example, if you want to export goods from Nhava sheva , Kandla and Mundra then your ifsc code should be separately registered at Nhava sheva , Kandla and Mundra respectively. If only Ad code is registered but IFSc code is not registered then you can file a shipping bill without duty drawback benefit and IGST refund benefit (export with payment of IGST). That means you need to file a free shipping bill.
AT ANY ONE PORT, ONLY ONE IFSC CODE CAN EXIST.

AD CODE - TO BE REGISTERED AT ANY ONE PORT. That port would be called Parent site for you. If ad code is registered at any one port, it will automatically be reflected at all ports of India – be it all sea ports, all airports, all ICDs and all land customs stations. . Say for example, if you want to export goods from Delhi airport, mumbai airport and mumbai nhava Sheva sea port, your ad code has to be registered with any one of three ports.

But unfortunately, And IFSC code has to be registered at all the three ports separately namely from Delhi airport, Mumbai airport and mumbai nhava Sheva sea port separately.

IFSC CODE HAS TO BE REGISTERED AT EACH PORT separately.
IFSC CODE HAS TO BE REGISTERED SEPARATELY AT EACH PORT FROM WHERE U WANT TO EXPORT WITH DUTY DRAWBACK CLAIM AND OR EXPORT WITH PAYMENT OF IGST (WHERE ANY MONEY IS REFUNDED BY CUSTOMS DEPARTMENT).
Means for those ports for which IFSC code is not registered, you can file SHIPPING bill without duty drawback claim OR with IGST PAID REFUND CLAIM.
IF YOU WANT TO CLAIM DUTY DRAWBACK AND OR GST REFUND OF IGST PAID ON EXPORTS (EXPORT WITH PAYMENT OF IGST) YOUR IFSC CODE MUST BE REGISTERED AT THAT PORT FROM WHICH YOU WANT TO EXPORT.
IF YOU WANT TO CLAIM DUTY DRAWBACK AND OR GST REFUND OF IGST PAID ON EXPORTS (EXPORT WITH PAYMENT OF IGST) YOUR IFSC CODE MUST BE REGISTERED AT THAT PORT FROM WHICHH YOU WANT TO EXPORT.
ANY MONEY TO BE TAKEN BACK FROM CUSTOMS - NEEDS IFSC CODE REGISTRATION AT THAT PORT. The money given by government to exporter in the form of drawback or GST refund indicates a transaction in which both the parties sender and receiver are Indian. So the transaction is happening in India. So IFSC code is needed as we need it for transferring money to any Indian account.
U CAN REGISTER AD CODE AT ANY 1 PORT AND AD CODE WILL BE ATUMOTICALLY BE REFLECTED IN ALL OTHER PORTS IN INDIA. BUT IFSC CODE YOU HAVE TO REGISTER AT EACH PORT SEPARATELY.

AD CODE - TO BE REGISTERED AT ANY ONE PORT. That port would be called Parent side for you. If ad code is registered at any one port, it will automatically be reflected at all ports. EVEN IF YOU TRY TO APPLY AD CODE AT ANY OTHER ADDITIONAL PORT IT WILL GET “SYSTEM REJECTE” BECAUSE IT HAS TO BE REGISTERED *AT ANY ONE PORT ONLY.

IMPORTS:

FOR IMORT ONLY AD CODE REGISTRATION IS NEEDED. IFSC CODE REGISTRATION IS NOT NEEDED FOR IMPORT. THIS IS BECAUSE IN IMPORT GOVERNMENT DOES NOT PAY YOU ANYTHING IN THE NAME OF DUTY DRAWBACK AND OR GST REFUND OF EXPORT WITH PAYMENT OF IGST. RATHER, IN IMPORT GOVERNMENT TAKES IMPORT DUTY FROM YOU. FOR TAKING ANYTHING FROM YOU IFSC CODE IS NOT NEEDED. BUT FOR GIVING YOU GST REFUND AND OR DITY DRAWBACK YOUR IFSC CODE HAS TO BE REGISTERED AT EACH PORT FROM WHERE YOU WANT TO EXPORT THE GOODS.

RECENTLY, FOR IMPORT ICEGATE REGISTRATION WITH DIGITAL SIGNATURE HAVE BEEN MADE MUST. THIS MEANS YOU MUST REGISTER ON ICEGATE WITH DIGITAL SIGNATURE TO PAY IMPORT DUTY.
Ad code is for receiving money from foreign buyer or sending money seller.

Ifsc is for receiving money from government in the name of GST refund and Duty drawback.
