Late afternoon rain helped firefighters battling a massive wildfire in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. That fire started Sunday afternoon at the Big Bear Lodge and Resort. It destroyed or damaged dozens of large rental cabins. Heavy smoke continued to fill the air above Sevier County Monday. Army helicopters were called in to dump water on hot spots as investigators searched for the cause of the fire. They say 59 cabins were destroyed, 6 damaged, along with one vehicle. 150 tourists were evacuated as a precaution, many staying in nearby hotels overnight. Andrew Endris is visiting from Indiana. He says he and his friends had been staying in a cabin close to where the fire started, then spread to hundreds of acres. He says they re fortunate they had gone out for dinner. We weren t there. Nobody got hurt. We have the clothes on our back. As of Monday night, the rain helped firefighters contain 80 percent of the fire.
