Corralejo Kite Festival 2023

The International Kite Festival has been held in Corralejo since 1987 .
It began thanks to the impulse of several kite flying enthusiasts, who saw extraordinary conditions in the surroundings of the Corralejo Dunes for enjoying this activity.
The frequency and high intensity of the winds in this privileged Protected Natural Area make it the perfect place to hold an event that is now over its third decade of life and continues to grow year after year naturally.
The last ten years have seen the consolidation of the event , which has enjoyed extensive information coverage , not only in the Canarian regional sphere, but also awakening the interest of both the national media and European television networks and newspapers , especially German ones. and British.
This growing evolution of the event meant that since 2003 the Department of Tourism of the City Council of La Oliva reached an agreement with its organizers, articulating it within the Council's events program in a solid way, in order to continue promoting its execution and promoting it as another tool for communication and tourism promotion of the municipality .
