STORYLINE:
Amateur video captures a wave of ice blanketing backyards and threatening houses in the Mille Lacs Lake area of Minnesota.
Darla Johnson shot the video on Saturday morning, May 11th 2013.
The ice cover has hampered the start of the fishing season in Mille Lacs, Minnesota.
Local resorts and bait shops worried the ice would cut into weekend business.
One resort owner told a local paper that there's still 24-inch-thick ice in the middle of the Mille Lacs Lake.
He said he's hoping the late start will mean a stronger fishing season later in May and into June, when business tends to level off.
