Revolution: The End of a Dictator - In 2014, Burkina Faso saw protests which brought an end to a 27-year military rule. A transitional government and a coup d'etat followed, with President Roch Marc Christian Kaboré eventually being elected.

Inspired by Thomas Sankara, Burkina Faso's president who was murdered in 1987, protests in 2014 brought an end to military rule in the country. 'If you want to kill Sankara today, a hundred Sankara will come again', says one protestor. 'The same sickness could happen again', warns a protest leader. 'The same people from the old regime are still here'.
