High-Speed Cover-Up: Rail CEO Arrested, Democrat DA Drops Charges

BESTCast News exposes the California High-Speed Rail boondoggle. CEO Ian Choudri's arrest for domestic battery was quickly swept under the rug by a Democrat Sacramento DA. High-speed rail corruption?

The California High-Speed Rail program is the ultimate monument to unchecked bureaucratic incompetence. Approved by voters all the way back in 2008, it remains a colossal, incomplete disaster plagued by years of continuous setbacks and massive budget overruns. It is widely considered one of the most controversial infrastructure projects in American history, so much so that President Donald Trump rightfully pulled its federal funding. Yet, state elites recently attempted to take a victory lap, celebrating the completion of a 150-acre logistics facility in Wasco.

But the self-congratulation didn't even last 24 hours. Just one day after the ribbon-cutting, the project's top executive, CEO Ian Choudri, was hauled off by the Folsom Police Department. Officers responded to a 911 call about a chaotic front-lawn brawl involving Choudri, his 46-year-old fiancée, and his 17-year-old daughter. The fiancée allegedly pulled the teenager's hair and shoved her out of the house, prompting Choudri to intervene. Both adults were booked into the Sacramento County jail on suspicion of domestic battery.

Now, watch how fast the political machine protects its own. The Sacramento County District Attorney's Office immediately declined to file any criminal charges. They claimed that because officers didn't observe any physical injuries, they couldn't identify a "dominant aggressor" as required by state law to meet their burden of proof. Interestingly, the District Attorney who let this high-profile executive off the hook is a Democrat currently running for Congress. Assemblyman David Tangipa rightfully pointed out the highly suspicious timing of this sudden dismissal for the leader of the state's largest and most politicized publicly funded project.

Choudri's high-priced attorney even went so far as to mock the domestic violence incident, waving it away to the press as a complete "nothing burger". Instead of facing real accountability, Choudri gets to take a comfortable, voluntary leave of absence while the agency's board conducts a so-called review. The High-Speed Rail Authority blindly insists to the public that its work continues without interruption and its priorities remain entirely unchanged.

What are those priorities, exactly? Bleeding the taxpayers dry. While the executive suite deals with criminal arrests and leadership instability, this same failing agency just paid out a record $537 million to settle delay disputes. It is a classic taxpayer-funded gravy train, completely derailed by mismanagement and shielded by a compliant political establishment.
