Hakone in Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park is a famous hot spring and a popular destination for a one day trip from Tokyo.
Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park is a place 3 plates meet each other. (Eurasia plate, North America plate, and Philippines Sea plate)
Many volcanos are located here such as Mt. Fuji, the highest mountain in Japan and Hakone is also a giant caldera, and still active. (The thumbnail of this video shows Mt. Hakone from Seisho bypass along the coastline )
You will see a variety of volcanic terrains in Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park.
