RECIPE INGREDIENTS: 1 pound chopped beef ( Chuck or sirloin)I chop in 1/2-1” chunks. 1 tbsp olive oil, 1 onion chopped, 2 cloves garlic or 1 tsp minced garlic, 2/3 cup red wine, 1 1/3 cup beef broth or stock, 2 tbsp paprika, 1/2 tsp marjoram, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp pepper, 1 bay leaf, 1 chopped tomato or 2 tbsp tomato paste, 2 tsp cornstarch with 2 tbsp beef broth mixed into a slurry to thicken at end.
INSTRUCTIONS: In a medium saucepan heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil, add in meat and sear on both sides. Remove meat and add chopped onions, sauté a few minutes, add garlic, and mix together. Add in red wine and deglaze the pan, then add the beef stock and all the seasonings. Last, add tomato or tomato paste, stir together in hot mixture, add in bay leaf, cover and simmer for 1 hour. After 1 hour, remove lid and add In cornstarch slurry. Stir until slightly thickened. Serve with noodles, rice or potatoes. ENJOY 😊
