Inspiring story of dairy farmer- Dhan Bahadur Rai of Rai Goan, Lower Burtuk.
Sikkim Chronicle reached a nearby village of Rai Goan, Lower Burtuk, east Sikkim to meet Dhan Bahadur Rai to understand the various aspects of dairy farming and the economy related to it.
Rai started his dairy with just one cow but presently he owns fifteen cows and is able generate 50 -60 litres milk everyday and sells in Rs. 50 per litre. Apart from dairy farming he also cultivates vegetables and sell vegetables in local market.

In this story he encourages the youngsters to take up dairy farming and also highlights about how one can also look for various schemes under Government of Sikkim.
