The US Dollar Index tracks the USD Dollar i.e. is an index (or measure) of the value of the United States dollar relative to a basket of foreign currencies. This index consists of 6 currencies: the EURO, YEN, Pound, Canadian Dollar, Krona and the Swiss Franc. This index geometrically weighted. Because every country is not the same size, each currency is given an appropriate weight with the EURO having the biggest weight on the index.
