Translation

1. Said by good people, even easily, is like words written on the stone. Said by bad
people, by taking an oath even, is like words written on water.

2. A huge tree should be served which is filled with fruits and shade. Unfortunately,
if the fruits are not there, then by whom the shade is prevented?

3. As a stone is placed on the mountain with great efforts. Within a moment it is
made to fall down. Similarly soul is like that in the matter of virtues and vices.
Shlokas

4. A person, who becomes angry in a moment and satisfies (gets pleased) in a
moment, Becomes angry and satisfied (pleased) in every moment, having
disturbed mind, his grace is also terrible.

5. As gold is examined by four ways by rubbing, cutting, heating and striking.
Similarly a man is examined by four ways by knowledge, character, virtues and deeds.

6. Be Rama in difficulties, Bhim in battles, Karna in giving charity, Krishna In polities,
Bhishma in keeping promises and Hanuman in vigorous deeds.

7. Lower people do not start being afraid of troubles, middle ones start but stop
when the troubles come. But by facing troubles repeatedly even the best people
never leave after starting once.

How is gold tested?
Who should be the ideals in difficulty and keeping promises? Why?
How is a man, not starting activity known as?
