Denny Kemps- Acedia and Dead Water (Full Album, 2020)

I recorded this during the first summer of Covid when I wasn't able to go out much. I think of it as kind of the companion album to Palette, they were both recorded late 2019 into Summer of 2020.

The pieces on this album are more mellow and sometimes somber. It is a slow burn but upon a re-listen I was happy with the way it came out. I cleaned up the recordings as I have learned a few things in the past few years that I wanted to apply to these recordings.

The instrumentation is more acoustic though not strictly so, there are plenty of synths and electronic elements. I also played more banjo and piano on this one, not instruments I use super frequently.

I also had a trash drum kit set up in my apartment. I used pot lids, crushed cans and a lot of other random stuff as percussion around this time. This can be heard especially on the first track and Half Measures. I also updated the cover as I was not thrilled with the old one.
