SAIC Audi announced today at the 2025 Chengdu Auto Show that pre-sale of the new Audi E5 Sportback begins on August 18, with a limited-time price starting at 235,900 yuan, and the official launch scheduled for September 16.
Audi and SAIC Motor jointly introduced a new brand, AUDI, in November last year. Built on the Advanced Digitalized Platform jointly developed by SAIC and Audi, the vehicle offers two-wheel drive and all-wheel drive options. Pre-sale prices range from 235,900 to 319,900 yuan.
The vehicle follows the design of the AUDI E concept car. The vehicle's overall design adopts a hatchback-like design, with dynamic welcome lighting featuring 942 LED lamp beads and approximately 2,000 triangular elements at the front and rear. The body is complemented by concealed door handles, 19/20-inch wheels, and quiet frameless doors.
Inside the cabin, the vehicle is equipped with a 59-inch display powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip and an HMI system offering features such as emulated glass maps, 3D features, and 3D wallpapers. A four-spoke steering wheel, a manual gearshift mechanism, electronic exterior mirrors, and an integrated blind spot warning function are also included.
In terms of intelligent driving, the vehicle utilizes Momenta EBM's end-to-end large model-assisted driving solution. The entire vehicle is equipped with 27 sensors, including one lidar, three millimeter-wave radars, 12 ultrasonic radars, and 11 cameras. It is also equipped with the NVIDIA Orin-X chip, which can provide assisted driving functions in various scenarios, such as urban roads, highways, and automatic parking.
The Audi E5 Sportback is 4881 mm long, 1960 mm wide, and 1479 mm high, with a 2950 mm wheelbase. Single-motor models produce a maximum power output of 220 kW and 300 kW, respectively, while dual-motor models offer a total power output of 386 kW and 579 kW, respectively.
