Today we will be taking a thorough look at the 8" Torus Incycler w/ Seed Of Life Perc from CleanClearGlass (DHGate).

Shipping: We ordered 5 items at once from CCG. Items arrived in 10 days , this falls in the 7-12 day window we consider average when ordering anything off DHGate. Packaging was the same as past orders from CCG, discreet packaging, no markings. The each of the 5 pieces were wrapped in 3 layers of bubble wrap each. All 5 items arrived safe and unbroken. Time to have some fun.

First Glance: The first word that popped in my head when I held the 8" torus incycler was "beefy". The body can is slightly fatter than the 9" klein and 7.5" mini bub we reviewed in the past. The base even feels a bit thicker. Quick inspection reveals no obvious imperfections or flaws. lets take a closer look.

The mouth piece: The mouth piece is not the same as the other seed of life pieces we have from CCG. Its still thick and has the same basic shape but its contoured on the inside, similar to a trumpet mouthpiece. It still feels comfortable but I personally prefer the full mouthpiece we saw on the rest of the line. I prefer placing my lips ON the mouthpiece, not INTO the mouthpiece.

Neck: The neck bend is gradual and clean, no kinks or sharp bends. Same design as the other seed of life pieces we have reviewed.

Welds: All the welds all look really good, no cracks, flaws or major imperfections.
We took a lot of time looking over all the welds and continue to be impressed by the quality of the SOL line from CCG.


Body: The main body is beefy. It feels heavy and thick in the hand. The 8" torus has a 14mm female ground glass joint. The Fit is perfect, we tested a variety of 14mm bowls, nails and adapters and had no issue with fit. Downtube is straight ,bracing is clean and strong.

Seed of life Perc: The 8" Torus incycler has a puck style perc with a beautiful quad seed of life cut around its edge. The 4 cuts are all clean and precise, no rough edges or broken pieces. This perc is beautifully finished. The draw is semi-airy, there is a bit of drag on first pull but once it gets going the draw becomes open and pleasant. This surprised me, I assumed the draw would be more like the klein since they have similarities in design. Bubbles stack evenly and are distributed evenly across all 4 pattern cuts.

Perc function: We love this perc design. So far we have reviewed 4 different SOL perc pieces and the perc might be the most consistent thing so far across the board.
There are going to be subtle changes in draw and function between each of the different pieces, but the SOL perc always works the same. The placement has always been good and the function is consistent for 4 reviews in a row.

Recycle function: The recycle function on the 8" Tourus incycler is the best of all the pieces we have seen so far. Both of the kleins recycle nicely but the fill to drain ratio seems a bit off after trying this torus. The Torus just seems a bit more dialed in. We still enjoy both kleins very much, but we exclusively use them as dab rigs. This Torus has a more airy open draw, we would feel comfortable smoking concentrates or flower from this piece. Its also much easier to clean up.

Base: The Torus base is different than the other SOL pieces. its nice and thick but its edges are more rounded than the others in the SOL line. It seems a bit thicker maybe 4mm or so but this is my best guess, I don't have a tool to accurately measure it. I would normally never complain about thinker glass or smoothed edges but since I have many SOL pieces it stands out a bit in the lineup.
When they are all lined up you can spot the difference pretty easy.

Conclusion: We were very impressed with this piece, It looks great on and fits in the hand very well. I have it at my desk right now hooked to a quartz banger enail and the crew keeps popping in to ask if they can use it. We have all become fans of this piece and its causing a line to form at my door.
Might have to order another so I don't have to share.
