Darband village dates back to 200 years ago. According to local people, for the first time, people from Taleghan migrated to this area and formed a family, thus establishing the Darband area. Darband's excellent location made many rich people and kings build private villas for themselves. During the Qajar period, this area was the focus of many princes who chose it for their residence. This continued during the era of Naser al-Din Shah and a dining mansion was added to this resort.

Interestingly, a guest house and a number of villas were built on the lands of Darband by order of Reza Shah. Guest house in Darband was the first residence in Iran that was suitable for receiving domestic and foreign dignitaries, and later it was renamed Diplomat Hotel. In addition, the municipal building, city police department, post office and power plant were also established in this neighborhood. In addition to building a big bridge over the river of this place, the statue of the mountaineer was also installed in Sarband Square and in the course of time Saad Abad Palace was built in this area with good weather.
