The Cedar Point and Lake Erie Railroad in 2016

Описание к видео The Cedar Point and Lake Erie Railroad in 2016

Not quite as many videos this year of the CP&LE, but still more than 2014. It was another great year on the railroad, especially because no single chimes were heard at all this year, woo hoo!

The only downside was our Southern 3 chime wasn't on much this year because of Lunkenheimer's crappy valves. We put it on 8/24 with a rebuilt valve and the next day the valve was stuck open, so we ran silent after shutting the ball valve. We then put on a brand new valve from Lunkenheimer, which lasted until the end of September when it was leaking too much, and then we tried the rebuilt valve again and it lasted almost a whole day, until it got stuck open again at night, so we put the Buckeye back on again for the rest of season. We tried again after the season ended with the rebuilt valve, but it was stuck open from the get go so no luck there. Hopefully 2017 will bring a better result.

Anyways, here are all the clips I got from this year that I wanted to share.

0:00 4/26/16, Judy in the shop after doing a test round blowing the Buckeye 3 chime. This is one of the few times we have an engine in the shop with steam pressure.
0:16 5/3/16, Myron is heard in the background on its first day doing full laps. It has a 3" 3 chime Lunk, which isn't the greatest whistle, but I do like how it sounds in the distance.
2:10 6/5/16, Judy leaves the station while Myron waits to hook up to the 2nd train. Engineers John Marhesic and Logan Schupp give a little show, both doing shave and a haircut and John doing Jingle Bells
3:06 7/4/16, Judy running late at night on the 4th of July with fireworks seen in the distance
3:55 7/30/16, Judy running with Logan at the helm on the last run of the night past Millenium Force and Maverick
5:50 8/7/16, Engineer Justin Kelsheimer acquired a 5" Crosby 3 chime from an antique in Sandusky for a great price, and we test it on our air compressor for the first time. We had to make a temporary lever for it since it did not come with one.
8:17 8/8/16, Myron pulls out of Main Station late at night during the Luminosity show. I somehow covered my microphone so I apologize for that.
9:39 9/3/16, Judy pulls out of Main Station finally showing off her Southern 3 chime. We were testing out coal from Dollywood at the time and as you can see, it can be quite smokey, although this is nothing compared to Southern Ohio coal
11:15 10/15/16, While in the shop one day, I heard a Hornblasters horn coming, so I started recording just in case they blew it again, and they did. The other horn was coming from the marina.
11:30 9/4/16, and now for the bulk of the video. I set my phone on the little engine to record the trains passing as I was running. I was on Judy with Justin Kelsheimer and Cory Branham seen running Myron. This includes an "emergency stop" I made due to a rowdy guest (steam purists, prepare for cringe with my stop). I also enjoy the clips of the Southern 3 chime in the distance, such a lovely whistle.

See ya'll in 2017!
