These cake balls pop very fast and are easy to make, popular for birthdays, children parties or for fans of the Ninja turtles.
Ingredients:
1. cake ball baking kit which includes baking pans, silicon clips and 12 reusable plastic sticks
2. 1 box of chocolate cake mix
3. green color candy melts
4. white, black and pink (or red) writing icing
5. black color food decorating pen "AmeriColor"
6. different color roll-ups
7. toothpicks, baking spray
8. Styrofoam or floral block
Method:
1. Make cake batter with one standard box of cake mix (I use chocolate cake mix) according to directions. For best baking results: use an extra egg, substitute milk
for water and use half as much as the recipe calls for.
2. Spray both the bottom and the top pan with baking spray include the holes on top tray as some cake batter may bake up through the holes and stick to the pan.
3. Start filling in the centre of pan and work your way out to the sides and spread around with a spatula.
4. Place top pan (with holes) on bottom pan and secure with clips.
5. Bake at 180C (350F) for 25-30 minutes.
6. Let pans cool before removing top pan (if any cake has baked through the holes simply scrape off before removing pan).
7.Remove bake pops from the oven and let them sit for 10 minutes.
8.Melt small amount of green candy melts in the microwave. Dip the end of the Bake Pop Stick into coating, then insert into cake ball.
9. Place bake pop into freezer for 10 minutes or in the refrigerator until coating is hard.
10. Heat large batch of green candy melts in microwave.
11. Remove your bake pops from the refrigerator and dip bake pops in green candy melts. Put into Styrofoam, foam block (like a floral block) your bake pop to cool upright and harden (to speed up hardening process put bake pops in the refrigerator for 10 minutes). Remove roll-ups form packet, cut necessary color (according to the ninja turtles headband) from the strip, then cut the strip in half long ways and join it together by pressing the edges to form the headband.
12.When bake pops harden, take the completed headbands and tie them around cake ball pops to resemble headband turtle ninjas, draw mouth with black color edible food pens (or use black writing icing), apply on top of headband white writing icing for the eyes, black writing icing for the pupil of the eye, pink (or red) writing icing for the tongue.
