There are four different options for installing:
1. Apply adhesive directly to backs of the
panels - use construction grade adhesive. We
recommend a few screws to help temporarily
hold them in place.
2. Screw panels directly into the wall. Use the
black drywall screws with a drill set up with a
screwdriver bit. Run the black screws through
the black felt. Use as many or as few screws as
you need. This is the simplest approach and
causes the least long term damage to the walls.
3. Attach 1” x 2” furring strips horizontally to the
walls secured directly to the wall studs. Then
attach the panels directly to the furring strips
using black drywall screws (or black wood
screws) attached through the black felt.
4. Use mollie bolts to attach the panels. This
requires a bit more eort to hold the panels in
place. Drill a pilot hole through the felt into the
wall in multiple locations for each panel, then
remove the panels, and the pilot holes in the
walls and drill the anchor holes and place the
anchors. Then put the panels back in place and
send the screws back through the original
holes in the felt and into the anchors. We think
this is excessive for wall applications but a
great solution for ceiling applications.
