Instead of apologizing, CEO doubled down. In a statement reposted on Polish forum Gowork, he defended his actions:
“Yes, I took it. Yes, I did it quickly. But life is first come, first served,” he wrote. “It’s just a hat. If you were faster, you would have it.”
He also warned critics that “insulting a public figure is subject to legal liability” and hinted at possible lawsuits against those posting negative comments about him.
Thankfully, young Brock’s story had a much better outcome. Majchrzak, who admitted he hadn’t realized the boy never got the hat, made things right by inviting him to meet in person. The tennis star gave him a signed hat and posed for photos, ensuring the child got the moment he deserved.
