In this episode of Bacolod Bill, we're tackling a major garden project—waterproofing and repairing our backyard pond here in the Philippines. This DIY project became necessary after a power washer stripped off the original cement-based waterproofing, leaving the pond leaking and unusable.

We walk you through the entire process—from draining and cleaning the pond to applying two coats of visible waterproofing paint to seal it up for good. Along the way, I share some personal thoughts on the challenges of construction in the Philippines vs. the West, lessons learned from other expats, and my plans to stock the pond with tropical fish instead of koi.
