Bríd Harper from the Castlefinn area in Donegal stopped by for Gypsy Wagon TV to give us two tunes from her wide repertoire of music. Both of these tunes come from the playing of Donegal man Tommy Peoples, a Strathspey called "The Lucky Bag" followed by "Joe Cassidy's" reel.
Bríd herself is an accomplished fiddle player having won numerous under age All Ireland titles and indeed other prestigious fiddle awards. You are in for a treat! Enjoy this fantastic session of Gypsy Wagon TV with some fine Donegal style fiddle playing!

Often musicians look for these special venues, a niche platform really and this is what this tiny Vardo offers. It has a beautiful natural acoustic and all the music or showcase recordings are done low tech with no need for mics and amplifiers. As you can see in this video, fiddle music is very close to our heart. The fiddle is the main instrument in traditional sessions here in Donegal and many tunes have been passed along from generation to generations. New tunes are of course composed all the time and are getting integrated into this fabric formed by generations before.
