Top 10 FIFA Ranking teams Update 2020

On 09 Apr 2020 FIFA posted the following:

"Ranking remains static as the world fights Covid-19
The ongoing measures to combat the spread of Covid-19 have resulted in little football of late and, consequently, next-to-no movement in the latest FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking.
A whole raft of international fixtures, including qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup™ and other major tournaments, were postponed, while dates were redrawn for showpiece men’s events such as the Olympic Football Tournament, CONMEBOL Copa America and UEFA EURO."

Since that time, there have been slight movements in rankings and a couple of updates. For this study we took the latest update, made the 17 of September. Also this ranking is for all confederations(UEFA, CONMEBOL, CONCACAF, CAF, AFC, OFC).

Currently eliminatories towards World Cup Qatar 2022 have begun.


How it's calculated the FIFA RANKING?

The FIFA World Ranking is a points-based system which takes into account all senior (or 'A') international matches played by a national team over the course of four years.

A team's total number of points is calculated by adding the average number of points gained during matches in the last 12 months to the average number of points gained from games older than 12 months (which depreciates year-on-year).

So at its most basic, FIFA ranking is determined by the following: 12 month average + previous 36 month average.
