ValueTask is providing a performance optimization in time-critical asynchronous scenarios.
This method either returns synchronously, if it knows the result, or asynchronously if it must calculate it.
Invoking this method frequently, with many calls ending up in the synchronous branch, could cause many needless Task allocations only to throw them away.
You can use ValueTask instead.
It either contains the result, or an asynchronous Task you can await.
It comes with a few limitations that do not exist in Tasks, which are reference types.
Therefore, you will only use ValueTasks in performance-critical situations where they produce a measurable impact.
The default choice should always be to use a common Task.
