Описание к видео ESC CW 2021 - (Accessibility and Disability in the Classroom/Anne-Marie Dolinar)

Presented by Anne-Marie Dolinar, Senior Regional Coordinator, ON, QC & MB for the Rick Hansen Foundation School Program

This session will help teacher candidates understand how they can help students (grades K-12) learn more about improving accessibility and inclusion in their schools and communities. Join the Rick Hansen Foundation School Program (RHFSP) team for a resource filled session on improving student well being by celebrating the importance of diversity and inclusion. 1 in 5 Canadians have a disability, but luckily 5 in 5 Canadians can help improve accessibility for all. Learning about accessibility and inclusion is important for all students. By gaining greater disability awareness, you will be equipped to foster an inclusive learning environment in your future classrooms. In this session you will also learn how the RHFSP offerings can support you in empowering students to make a difference in their classrooms, schools and communities.

This session will be presented by Anne-Marie Dolinar who is the Senior Regional Coordinator, ON, QC & MB for the Rick Hansen Foundation School Program. Anne-Marie began her career as a Registered Dietitian where she educated clients about nutrition, delivered food literacy programming in schools, and instructed dietetics courses at the post-secondary level. After sustaining a spinal cord injury, the need for improved accessibility and inclusion became abundantly clear to Anne-Marie. This ultimately led her to her role with the Rick Hansen Foundation School Program. She wholeheartedly believes in the potential of young people to be Difference Makers, and the vision of creating a world where Everyone can go Everywhere. In her spare time, Anne-Marie can usually be found on a tennis court – she competes internationally as a wheelchair tennis athlete and is our current Canadian Women’s National Champion. You can reach out to the speaker’s organization on twitter @RickHansenFdn and find more resources about the foundation’s school program on the website at https://www.rickhansen.com/schools-co....
