Описание к видео How to Sew: Flat Felled Seams | Plus Alternative Methods | Sewing Tutorial for a Neat Seam Finish

This step-by-step tutorial will show you how to sew a flat felled seam on a sewing machine, without needing a specialist presser foot. Flat felled seams are a very neat type of seam where the raw edges are completely enclosed, and the end result is durable and strong.

I'll show the most common method first, where the fabric edge is trimmed after sewing, and then 3 other methods that don't require trimming.
It's easiest to work out the seam allowance you need for method 1, but you may see trimming the fabric as a downside. Method 2 is the only one of the methods that isn't also neat on the back, and it requires the most sewing, but it allows you to use a twin needle if you wish. Method 3 is narrower and more bulky, so is therefore good for lightweight fabrics, and method 4 is a mashup of the previous techniques and I find it the quickest to do.

I hope you find this video useful :)

00:00 Intro
01:40 Method 1: The most common, includes fabric trimming
04:28 Method 2: No trimming, can use a twin needle
07:00 Method 3: No trimming, narrower & more bulky
08:53 Method 4: No trimiming, easiest IMHO
