Okay, this is the longest level in the entire game. SO long, that it's the only level in the game that has not one, but TWO Bonus Mazes. The first one has danger spots from balls of magma shooting out from the lava underneath you, The second Bonus Maze instead have spear traps that shoot from target-like spots in the ground. You'll have to navigate over those carefully.

From what I've read, one of the reasons why this level is so dang long is just because there are only three Ruins levels in this game, including the boss, and that Manic Mines here was spliced together from two different levels. This would explain why it has two Bonus Mazes.

I've checked somewhere else and found another possible-but-similar reason. Instead of merging two levels together to make Manic Mines, Manic Mines was just extended while an actual third level called Kooky Crypt was removed entirely.

Moving on, another one of Pac-Man's friends, his pet dog Chomp-Chomp, is locked in a cage, here. The Key for it is within this level, itself, but you'll need to go some ways to reach it.

When you create a mini-maze within the area Chomp-Chomp is in, Bananas will randomly appear within the maze. You'll need two of them: One that will help you reach Chomp-Chomp's cage Key, and another to get a door that leads to the N of the 6 letters. You might have to hang around in that maze for a second one to appear before leaving it, otherwise you might miss out and have to repeat the level again for the other one of its two Banana doors.

Once again, after releasing a friend, they will drop a full heal wedge for you.
