South Korea has achieved its goal for this year in terms of exports of processed seafood products like seaweed snacks, total shipments surpassing 3 billion U.S. dollars.
According to the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, exports of fishery products surpassed the target last Friday, December 9th.
The biggest item was seaweed at 620 million dollars.
The ministry said overseas consumers have been buying more of Korea's seaweed snacks, particularly in the American market.
With the growing popularity of these products, the ministry expects the sector's total export value to exceed 4 trillion won for the first time ever.
