Junaid Jamshed was a Pakistani singer, songwriter, and evangelist who gained fame as the frontman of the band Vital Signs. After a successful music career that included the iconic song "Dil Dil Pakistan," he renounced music in 2004 to focus on his religious work. Jamshed was also a successful fashion designer and the founder of the brand J.. He tragically died in a plane crash on December 7, 2016.  

Early life and education: 

Born in Karachi on September 3, 1964, Jamshed pursued a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology in Lahore. 

Music career:

He rose to stardom in the late 1980s as the lead vocalist of the band Vital Signs. 

The band's 1987 song "Dil Dil Pakistan" became a patriotic anthem in Pakistan. 

After Vital Signs disbanded in 1997, Jamshed launched a successful solo career. 

Transition to religion:

In 2004, he announced he was leaving his music career to dedicate his life to Islam. 

He became a popular televangelist and preacher, appearing on television and in public forums to talk about his faith. 

Fashion career:

He founded the popular fashion brand "J." in 2002, which expanded to have numerous outlets across Pakistan and internationally. 

Tragic death:

On December 7, 2016, Junaid Jamshed, his wife, and 47 other passengers died when their PIA flight crashed near Abbottabad.
