Cluster Headache is categorized as the worst headache pain you can experience. Out of the near 300 different headache conditions, Cluster Headache is regarded as the most severe form of headache due to it's excruciating pain.
It affects men 5-6 times more often than females, and is a rare type of headache condition, affecting only 0.1% of the population.
Pain is usually unilateral and affects the eye. Sufferers may experience a water eye, droopy eyelid, swollen eyelid, congested or runny nose.
Attacks can last between 15-180 minutes, and may occur up to 8 times per day, or 1 every second day.
Episodic Cluster Headaches accounts for 80% of those suffering from this disorder. This is classified with periods of remission, or pain free periods.
Chronic Cluster Headaches on the other hand accounts for 20% of the population. This is classified with periods of minimal or no remission periods.
