Four police officers were martyred and two others injured on Wednesday when unidentified assailants opened fire on an Ababeel Police Force patrol in the Nawi Killi area of Khar Tehsil in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa's Bajaur District, according to the police.
Station House Officer Gul Zada confirmed the incident to The Express Tribune and stated that the police officers were part of an Ababeel Squad conducting a routine patrol during Ramazan when they were ambushed.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi strongly condemned the attack and expressed his heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the families of the martyred officers.
In a statement, Naqvi paid tribute to the police officers who lost their lives in the line of duty while extending his prayers for the speedy recovery of the injured officer, hoping for his quick return to health.
