We have a lot of treatment options for fat reduction, and obviously extra fat is one of the most common things that patients come in complaining of. And even people who exercise regularly and watch what they eat often have problem areas that they just can't seem to get rid of that are really stubborn. And what's great these days is that we have so many more non-invasive options to offer patients.

So for example we have CoolSculpting which is a completely non-invasive technique to freeze fat and the body actually just metabolizes that fat and it gets eliminated the same way any regular impurities in your body would get eliminated. It involves no anesthesia no downtime and can be done in as little as an hour in my office. We also have injectables now such as Kybella, particularly for the area under the neck. It's been FDA-approved and what it is it's basically an acid that just dissolves fat in this area and is really effective and again can be done without any anesthesia in the office.

Then we get into slightly more invasive procedures such as liposuction. I like to do liposuction combined with laser which is something called Smart Lipo which really helps with skin contraction and helps really maximize the results. So what you get is fat removal and shrinkage of the skin that's actually overlying that fat and then from there we get to surgical body contouring procedures that involve excision of both fat and skin and if you do have an area that really has fat and a lot of extra skin, it often is the best way to address the problem. That can range from anything like a tummy tuck, an arm lift, a thigh lift, or an upper back lift and patients can basically have whatever complaints they have addressed with any of these procedures.

So as you can see, we have a huge number of techniques at our disposal to be able to address concerns of extra fat in these areas and really make patients feel good about the way they look.
