In this YouTube video, we take you through the challenging yet rewarding process of painting the body and cab of our Ambulander using Raptor Liner. We chose Raptor Liner because it offers a protective coating with superior durability compared to regular car paint, as we plan on taking our expedition vehicle off-road in remote locations. Unlike conventional spray painting, we opted for a roller application, making the task more time-consuming but ensuring a texture that we liked.

The project unfolded over several days during mid-fall, adding an element of urgency as we aimed to complete the painting before the weather turned too cold and humid conditions - the ideal application temperature for Raptor Liner is 20°C (68°F) with humidity of less than 60%. We were lucky to have some dry weather and a temperature still around 14°C (57°F) when painting, meaning the cure time was longer.

One of the hurdles we faced was the initial colour choice, which proved too dark for our liking. This setback led to a two-day exploration and testing of alternative colours until we found the perfect match. The video captures the practical challenges, and the ultimate satisfaction of seeing our Ambulander transformed!
