Bouldering in Sweden: Highball Thrills & Rough Climbs

Описание к видео Bouldering in Sweden: Highball Thrills & Rough Climbs

We are climbing in Västanbäck, Sweden! This beautiful thinned pine forest used for logging is scattered with rough granite & huge stones. This area is easily accessible, with variety of boulders to try, mainly on the rougher side though. On our two-day visit here, I climbed some of the easier & higher lines while Juuso kept jumping for his dreams. Johanna was still recovering from her flu by picking loads of blueberries. 🫐

Whilst climbing Kolbullar I had a moment where I questioned the fear and challenge that climbing higher lines with a "no fall zone" offers. Somehow im attracted to the challenge and mental side of highballs but rational me questions the safety and consequences of these climbs. Please tell me how you feel about fear & committing on high lines. Do you feel the fear factor rewarding afterwards?

Whilst climbing I felt somewhat off and tired. Turns out I had borrelia which I discovered a few days later. Note! Remember to watch for TICKS especially in the nordic countries. 🪲
