Never before seen, exclusive ground report from Russia’s far east Floating Nuclear Power Plant

Despite Ukraine conflict, a Russian nuclear energy company has decided to share its advanced technology. Russian nuclear energy company Rosatom has set up world’s first Floating Nuclear Power Plant. Floating power unit ‘Akademik Lomonosov’, has been named after renowned Russian scientist. Developed & operated by power generation company in Pevek, the FNPP can provide power supply to remote areas. Asian News International reached FNPP to bring ground reports from unique power plant with cutting-edge technology. Unique floating plant with cutting-edge technology provides energy to remote industrial enterprises, port and mining sites. Designed by Russian Nuclear Scientists and naval architects the 144-metre vessel has a displacement of 21,000 tonnes. Locals in Pevek get power, heat supply round the year which was only possible due to FNPP. Schools, theatres, restaurants, ports and other facilities in Chukotka region need energy to keep functioning in -40°C. The FNPP supplies power to mining sites in far east areas that help in growth, development of Russia. Rosatom is ready to share the technology with friendly nations that will help in development & growth of remote areas.
