📡 PAP Authentication Configuration on Cisco Routers (Step-by-Step)

🔹 Router1 Configuration:
1️⃣ `hostname Router1`
→ Sets the router's name to “Router1” for easy identification.

2️⃣ `interface Serial0/0`
→ Enters interface mode for the serial link between the two routers.

3️⃣ `ip address 10.1.1.1 255.255.255.0`
→ Assigns an IP address to the serial interface.

4️⃣ `encapsulation ppp`
→ Changes the default encapsulation (HDLC) to PPP, needed for PAP.

5️⃣ `ppp pap sent-username R1 password cisco123`
→ Sets the username/password that Router1 will send to Router2.

6️⃣ `no shutdown`
→ Activates the interface.

🔹 Router2 Configuration:
1️⃣ `hostname Router2`
→ Sets this router's name to “Router2”.

2️⃣ `username R1 password cisco123`
→ Creates a local username/password that matches what Router1 sends.

3️⃣ `interface Serial0/0`

4️⃣ `ip address 10.1.1.2 255.255.255.0`
