The Karlheinz Miklin Trio with special guests Art Farmer & Fritz Pauer live in Austria May 5th 1987

This video has been recorded at the Münzgrabenheim in Graz/Austria on vhs. I´ve recently rediscovered and digitalised it., so the qualitly leaves a bit to be desired. But I´ve put it up anyway to pay tribute to the musical legacy of Karlheinz Miklin, Art Farmer and Fritz Pauer, who unfortunately are not with us any more. It has been shot at the last concert of a small tour in 1987. At that point of time the Karlheinz Milin Trio with it´s members Ewald Oberleitner on bass and Gerhard Wennemuth on drums was at the peak of it´s popularity, ranking amongst the Top Jazzbands in Austria and having performed all over the globe. Normally playing mostly original music ( a mix of modern, traditional, latin and free Jazz), it´s leader went for something different this time. So Miklin invited the world famous flugelhorn player Art Farmer from the USA (who had long secured his place in the history of world Jazz by then) and Austrian Jazz legend Fritz Pauer (who also had played with a who is who of the European and American Jazz scene) for som concerts where the repertoire stayed in the Hard Bop territoy and consisted mostly of standards.
