"While recording the new songs for our album Ting, we did three concerts in our Werf studio. Because of the limited space only 50 people per night were allowed to see the concert. We played and recorded 12 songs. For the 3 sessions we invited Dieuwke Kleijn on cello and Eveline Carels on percussion. It was the first time we played the songs live in front of an audience.
We found this VHS tape again after 28 years and the quality shows the time that is passing by...but we are lucky to have it, thanks to Conno van Wijk who filmed it.
Song number 5 is Christine’s World…the perfect soundtrack for this Easter Sunday. Based on a painting of the American artist Andrew Wyeth. In 1948 he painted a woman lying in a field…in the distance a grey house. Her name was Christina Olson and the original title of the painting is Christina’s World.
The woman in the painting was handicapped…Christine in the song is arriving in a bus on a Sunday morning and is leaving at the end of the song…waving goodbye…"
