MARSHALL, HAIN Dancing In The City ULTRA TRAXX REMIX VIDEO

Описание к видео MARSHALL, HAIN Dancing In The City ULTRA TRAXX REMIX VIDEO

40 years ago this great pop track charted in England and Australia where it reached #3 in both regions. 'Dancing In The City' was the debut hit for duo Marshall, Hain - Julian Marshall and Kit Hain. The song spent 6 months in the Aussie chart; 9 weeks in the Top 10 to become the 26th biggest seller of 1978 - no small achievement as it only began selling in August! There was (and is) something infectiously moody but joyous about this recording - maybe it was Kit Hain's slightly ethereal vocals' or the slightly spooky intro and fade with thunder claps. This takes me right back to the Spring of 1978 and a family holiday and singing along to it with my little sister. In the years since, I've discovered that Marshall, Hain had one more minor hit in Britain and one LP, but disbanded a year later. Hain went onto release solo albums with a modicum of success. Her vocal here reminds me a little of Judie Tzuke (who would debut a year later with 'Stay With Me Till Dawn' ) Marshall joined a succession of bands including The Flying Lizards which resulted in their discordant hit 'Money' (That's What I Want) in 1980. I've re-edited two performance clips of 'Dancing In The City' with the Ultra Traxx Remix of the original 7 inch single.
