HOW TO LIGHT A WET BIC LIGHTER - UNDERWATER

A lighter is the easiest “sure fire” way to get a fire going. But if you found your pack, or kit submerged in water, or dropped your lighter in water, even for a prolonged period of time, you can get it lit in LESS THAN A MINUTE. We often rely on our lighter to be the thing that gets our fire going quick. Especially in an emergency, whether to light a fire, a candle, or disinfect a needle or tweezers. Even if absolutely saturated, there is a method to dry it and light it, in LESS THAN SIXTY SECONDS.

In this video, Kyoshi Dave Herman of Five Elements Tactical Training, shows you the steps to shaking out the water, drying the small ferrocerium rod which creates the spark, and clearing the jet from which the lighter fuel sprays. He takes you from water to fire in under a minute.
