Taroona House | A Unique Home Built on a Steep Forested Hillside

Описание к видео Taroona House | A Unique Home Built on a Steep Forested Hillside

Taroona House in Tasmania is a unique home built on a steep, forested hillside. Designed by Archier for a nature-loving artist couple, the house prioritizes connection with the environment and incorporates a dedicated art studio. The design itself is inspired by fallen tree branches, with three rectangular structures stacked together. This layout offers flexibility for the homeowners and reduces energy consumption.

The extensive use of glass throughout the house allows the occupants to feel immersed in the surrounding forest. However, due to the limited sunlight, solar panels weren't an option. To address this, the team at Archier created a unique window system themselves, ensuring structural integrity and minimizing environmental impact. The home relies on Tasmania's hydroelectricity grid for power, achieving a 6-star energy rating. Overall, Taroona House exemplifies innovative design that coexists harmoniously with nature.
