This is my 6 minute loop of the main Pleasure Island Carnival instrumentals from Pinocchio's Daring Journey, used since this attraction opened on May 25, 1983. This is a fitting instrumental similar to the one in the scene from the 1940 film. Although it is very similar to the 1940 version, this particular rendition was composed by John Debney. In addition to many film scores, Debney composed each of the musical scores used in the Fantasyland dark rides at Disneyland since 1983, and Disneyland Paris since 1992, as well as the musical scores for Splash Mountain at Disneyland (RIP 1989-2023), Haunted Mansion Holiday (2001), and the Paris versions of Phantom Manor and it's a small world (1992). I think as usual, he did a fantastic job keeping the essence of the original but enhancing it for modern standards. This was one of the reasons the audio was changed in Peter Pan, Snow White, Mr Toad, and Alice in 1983/84. Although short at 20 seconds, it holds up incredibly well 40 years later and I hope it stays forever, although I wouldn't mind them extending it. Pleasure Island is the deceptive carnival that lures children in with brightly colored amusements in a place that encourages bad habits and turns out to be the worst kind of greed, where the children who are lured into bad habits are turned into donkeys and condemned to slavery. This is the "happy" carnival music when Pinocchio enters Pleasure Island. All of the pictures show areas where this can be clearly heard. The first picture is actually from 1983. Between 1:10 & 2:03 are my pictures from Sept 2022. From 2:05 through the end of the video are my own pictures from August 2024, most of which I am very pleased with the quality.
