Replacing Range or Stove Burner Element Sockets.
If you sometimes turn on a burner on an electric stove and it doesn't get hot at all, it could be that the old sockets that the burner goes into isn't making good electrical contact, due to age, damage or wear. If you have to move the burner around a bit then it heats up, or it heats up but you hear arcing or "sparking" noises, this is a typical sign of this problem.

In this video I replace all 4 burner sockets on this electric stove, which was manufactured in 1981(!) & the repair works perfectly. Many electric stoves/ranges made today (especially the lower priced open burner types) still use the same design & parts as the range in this video.
Some of the brands that are similar are GE (General Electric), Whirlpool, Hotpoint, Admiral, Roper, Caloric, HiSense & some others. I used Whirlpool factory certified parts**, but they will also work on many other brands & models.

If in doubt, just search online for your brand & model number of the stove and you should find parts available for it.

** A note on parts quality. While looking around for a good parts deal for this repair, I came across many lower priced parts that looked very similar to genuine OEM Factory parts. It's your choice what you want to buy & use, but I do not recommend using any of those lower priced parts. In my personal experience, the quality of them is not very good, they tend to fail quickly (meaning you'll have to do the job all over again a short time later), and sometimes they are not safe to use, due to poor design, materials & workmanship.

IMO these parts are just not worth the possible threat to your personal safety & possible material loss. Poor quality electrical parts are no joke.
Take some time & shop the web. I got genuine factory OEM parts for half the "normal" price. Details in video.
