He was born on July 1, 1907 in Armenia, in Alexandropol (now Gyumri).
Caro's father - Charchoghlyan Hovhannes Mikhailovich, was a musician, owning a DUDUK and clarinet. Little Karo inherited his outstanding talent and love for music from his father, who developed his son's abilities from the age of five. In 1926 Karo Charchoghlyan drafted into the army,and he served in the city of Kharkov (Ukr.SSR.) There he met with Petrova Nadezhda Petrovna, his future wife.
During his military service, Karo continues to hone his performing skills and creates an ensemble of folk instruments, which he directs. After serving in the Soviet Army Charchoghlyan is married to Nadia and, with it, returned to his native Leninakan. In 1931, the young couple moved permanently to the city of Baku (AZ.SSR), where Karo's professional musical activity continues.
The rumor about a new talented musician spreads like wild-fire through the city, and soon Caragliano receiving proposals from various state orchestras of folk instruments. Continuing to perform on stage, the young talented musician begins teaching and leads classes of clarinet and DUDUK At the music school named after Asaf Zeynalli.

Life Karo Charchoghlyan was brief, but creatively rich. At the age of 49, after a short illness, he died of a brain hemorrhage on 21 November 1956. His grave has been a place of pilgrimage for Baku musicians of different nationalities for decades.
