Join Dr. Patrick Nickleson and the students in Music 314: Music in Canada for a conversation with Cheryl L’Hirondelle, an award-winning interdisciplinary artist and singer/songwriter whose family roots are from Treaty Six: Papaschase First Nation / amiskwaciy wāskahikan and Kikino Metis Settlement, AB. Cheryl is a 2021 recipient of a Governor General’s Award in Visual and Media Art, an active artist, performer, and musician, and a PhD candidate with SMARTlab at University College Dublin.

Questions About Music is a forum for everyone in the UofA Music Department – performers, educators, composers, researchers, fans, family, friends, and more! – to come together and chat about musical things that make us curious. We invite guest speakers to converse with us on a variety of topics. But this is also a platform for undergraduate and graduate students to propose discussions around questions, projects, scores, recordings, visions of music education and much, much more.
