Great Indian Bustard - One of the heaviest of flying birds. Lesser than 200 individuals are thought to remain in the wild.
Red Headed Vulture- It is found mostly in the Indian subcontinent, with small patches in Southeast Asia. Its population is slowly declining, with Diclofenac being responsible for a heavy fall in its population.
Forest Owlet- It was thought to be extinct as early as in 1884 and was finally rediscovered in 1997. On the verge of extinction, this bird is found in a few places in western india, in Gujarat.
Once abundant across large parts of India, this long-lived stork is now down to less than 1,800 birds worldwide. The Greater Adjutant is a victim of development, which includes the loss of open garbage dumps and over-exploitation of wetlands.
