He has good size and strength, making him a tough runner to bring down. However, he needs work as a receiver and has had some issues with drops. In 2022, he had 138 yards on 25 attempts in the A-gap, 103 yards on 14 attempts in the B-gap, 36 yards on 13 attempts in the C-gap, and 262 yards on 41 attempts in wide runs. Overall, Johnson has the potential to be a short-yardage back in the NFL, but needs to improve his receiving skills.
