To start off 2019, Ilana and I decided to grab the nearest Mobike bicycles and take a short tour. There were two Mobike bikes just outside our apartment, located in the colonia Anzures in Mexico City.
Colonia Anzures in my opinion is pretty well located, we are right next to the colonia Polanco, and just on the other side of Circuito Interior Melchor Ocampo, a main highway through the city. Just on the other side is the Colonia Cuahutemoc, where you'll find the famous avenue Reforma. There, you can stop at the monument El Angel de Independencia, and La Diana Casadora among others.
Traffic moves sporadically, but smooth. We decided to make our way in a different direction, in through part of El Bosque De Chapultepec. It's a HUGE park, comparable to Central Park in New York. There you'll find a zoo, several museums and monuments, a ton of vendors and food, and really cool natural areas to hang out. We made a quick stop by the monument to Los Niños Heroes, before making our way back out onto Avenue Reforma.
We rode past el Angel de Independencia, and La Diana Casadora and made our way back to la colonia Condesa.
Condesa is a very modern area of Mexico City. It's very Hipster, and you'll find a ton of tourists. This is where we chose to have brunch, at at spot called Lardo. I found it on a local Instagram feed. There was about a 30 minute wait. The food was very good, fancy, and quite expensive when compared to other places in Mexico City. But if you're in the area, I definitely recommend it, and a quick tip, make reservations!
That wrapped up our Mobike tour for the day. Mobike is a form of transport I use frequently, almost every day. It's pretty inexpensive, about .50 cents for 10 minutes. Other forms of transport I've been using are the Lime scooters and the Econduce mopeds if I need to go further distances. Later on I will make other posts about the forms of transport I use.
