The Bega Canal with bridges, and historical buildings from the central area of Timisoara

The canal flows under several iconic bridges including the Workers' Bridge (Podul Muncii), the Heroes' Bridge (Podul Eroilor), Stephen the Great Bridge (Podul Stefan cel Mare), the Iron Bridge (Podul de Fier), Trajan Bridge (Podul Traian), Michael the Brave Bridge (Podul Mihai Viteazu), Michelangelo Bridge (Podul Michelangelo), and Decebal Bridge (Podul Decebal). The following streets run parallel to the canal: Nicolae Titulescu Embankment (Splaiul Nicolae Titulescu), Tudor Vladimirescu Embankment (Splaiul Tudor Vladimirescu), Vasile Parvan Boulevard (Bulevardul Vasile Parvan), Corneliu Coposu Boulevard (Bulevardul Corneliu Coposu), and Nistru Embankment (Splaiul Nistrului). The Bega Canal (in Hungarian Béga-csatorna) is a navigable canal in Romania and Serbia. It is 114 km long and stretches between Timișoara and the Serbian town of Titel. Of the total length, 44 km are on the territory of Romania, and the remaining 70 km on the territory of Serbia.
